1 c. butter or oleo, softened
1 ½ c. Sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla

Beat well at med speed of mixer for about 2 min.
Gradually add:

2 ½ c flour
1 ½ tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

Beat well.  Spread in 10″ x 15″ greased pan. Saving 1 ½ c batter for topping.  Spread 1 can cherry pie filling over dough.  Drop the rest of the dough by spoonfuls over filling; spread out letting the pie filling peek through.  Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 min. until light brown and done.  Drizzle with frosting while warm.
