2 pkgs milk choc chips-divided
2 cups butter
1 lb brown sugar
1 cup blanced slivered almonds

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Grease a 14×18 in cookie sheet. Sprinkle 1 pkg choc chips on pan. Place in warm oven until chips melt. (about 5 min). Remove and spread into pan. In a large saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar. Stirring constantly, heat to 300-310 degrees or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms hard, brittle threads. Remove from heat. Stir in 3/4 cup almonds and pour into pan with melted chocolate. Sprinkle remaining pkg of choc chips over almonds. Spread melted chocolate evenly. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup almonds over chocolate. Cut into squares or allow to harden and break apart.
